Memorabilia ranging from collectibles to museum-quality items accumulated by legendary entertainer Bob Hope will be sold during a live televised and real-time online auction. October 18 and 19 at the Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, Calif. If you didn’t get your invitation for the gala preview of the collection aboard the Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossing on September 4, you now have an opportunity to view, bid and interact with this collection online.

Julien’s is handling the auction.

Proceeds will benefit the Bob and Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation.

Some of the highlights of the sale are

• a one-page letter dated October 23, 1943, from Bette Davis

• Hope’s red-and-white American Indian headdress made famous on the cover of Life magazine

• a golfing collection that includes complete sets of personalized clubs, Hope’s Dunlop Bogie Buster golfing bag, a Tiffany and Co. sterling-silver golf club, 24k plated golfing tees and his famous red golfing jacket

Among the hundreds of personal items in the sale are Christian Dior reading glasses, a letter from President Ronald Reagan on presidential stationery, his personalized desk plate engraved with “BOB HOPE—THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES" and many items purchased at auction that were once owned by England’s royal family.

It is not often that we get an opportunity like this to own something from a legend in our time.
